Welcome to the Website of the Wisconsin Branch of The International Dyslexia Association (WIBIDA)
Mission Statement: We are dedicated to the study and remediation of dyslexia and to the support and encouragement of individuals with dyslexia and their families. IDA was founded in 1949 and continues the work of Dr. Samuel Orton in the study, prevention and treatment of the specific learning disability known as dyslexia that affects up to 20% of the population. Formerly known as the Orton Dyslexia Society, IDA has 48 branches in the United States in addition to 11 global partners. IDA ANNUAL The Dyslexia Dash is a National fundraising event, coinciding with the IDA annual conference. Members, families, colleagues, friends and supporters of all ages will walk, run or jog around Phoenix on October 30th, raising awareness and financial support for IDA's mission to improve literacy for struggling readers. Everyone is welcome: runners, joggers, walkers and, for those who can't be there--"Virtual Dashers"--participate by raising pledges even if you don't run the 5K! Teams are encouraged! Get your Branch, school, employer and friends to form your team! Prizes will be awarded to individual finishers, teams, Branches and more.
